Now that you know how to put tables within other tables, you're ready to use tables for formatting. When you put data inside of a table, you have maximum control over your document. You can format the page to look any way you'd like. Here's an example without the table border in place:

TRY and make this without tables!

Would it surprise you to know that this whole page is one big table? That table of contents at the left is in a separate cell of this table. There are tables within tables here, but because most of the borders are set to zero, you'd never notice. Even the stuff at the bottom of the page is in a table. In fact, you can click HERE to see this page with all of its borders.

Remember - when you put tables inside of tables, it's really easy to forget to close all of the tags. Never forget the </> tags!!!

Practice formatting with tables. You'll find that you have far more control than you would otherwise. Be aware though that not all screens and browsers look alike. Whenever possible, use percentages instead of pixel sizes for tables to keep your table looking like it should.
