Meta is a prefix that means "to go beyond" or "aside of." For example, metaphysics goes beyond physics into the realm of philosophy, spirituality, and asks the question, "what is really real." Deep, eh? Head games. And the meta commands go beyond the main body of the text and do some funky things inside the head of the document as well.

In this lesson you will learn what the meta commands are and what they can do. Some are dull, but some may come in handy. You might even enjoy playing inside the head of the web document.
